This course aims to build your understanding of ELT methodology by introducing the relationship between theory and practice.  In the course we will look briefly at different theories intended to explain the mental processes involved in language learning as well as the essential elements for meaningful learning. Similarly, it is expected that you develop a critical and experiential view of the teaching methods and approaches that have been implemented in recent decades and those that are the most innovative and effective nowadays. Moreover, you are expected to question and overcome traditional teaching methods and make conscious and informed decisions involving the use of participatory and effective approaches in the classroom.
