Componentes

This course is twofold as it focuses on advanced Reading Comprehension and Written Expression in English. On the one hand, it aims at building on your reading speed (Words Per Minute; WPM) so that you feel more confident in approaching complex reading tasks in the shortest possible time. Likewise, your reading comprehension skills will be reinforced particularly in the abilities to understand, deduce meaning, use context, guess, predict, infer, identify and summarize main ideas of advanced reading texts in English. Written Expression, on the other hand, focuses on helping you reinforce and enhance your academic writing skills so that you are able to write different kinds of written tasks such as descriptive, cause and effect, argument, definition, process, comparison and contrast, and classification essays. The two skills have been combined through a comprehensive, systematic and engaging process based on the premise that good reading and writing are intrinsically connected. Thus, you will be exposed to a number of exercises, tasks, and reading texts that will provide you with effective exposure that will lead you consistently to the enhancement of your reading and writing skills in English.
